About this tour
Join us as we discover two great treasures of the state of Hidalgo in an experience that combines artisanal tradition, history, and architectural beauty. We’ll begin our tour with a visit to a pottery workshop, where we’ll get an up-close look at the process of crafting handmade clay pieces—a practice passed down from generation to generation that reflects the creativity and cultural heritage of Hidalgo’s communities.
Next, we’ll visit the impressive Ex Hacienda de Santa María Regla, one of Mexico’s most iconic haciendas. Founded in the 18th century and linked to the mining boom in New Spain, this extraordinary architectural complex will give us insight into part of the region’s economic and social history, while we admire its courtyards, arches, stone walls, and spectacular landscapes.
Throughout the tour, we will discover the importance of artisanal traditions and the historical legacy that have shaped Hidalgo’s identity—an ideal experience for those who enjoy Mexico’s culture, history, and artistic expressions.
About the guide
Dra. Carmina Pérez
Historical Educator
I love dogs, horror movies, classic Mexican cinema, and I’m an avid knitter. I enjoy capturing life’s smallest details, taking photographs of everyday places or objects that go unnoticed amid the hustle and bustle of the present. I believe we can see the world around us with fresh eyes and be amazed by the obvious things we’ve never really paid attention to.
